  • CONTIGO EN LA DISTANCIA - Versión @esthersanchez
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/d568353d
    **ENGLISH VERSION:**
How are you doing, Music friends?
I hope you’ve had a great week, full of productivity!
Next, I’ll tell you a little about the song I’ll be sharing with you this week: “Contigo en la distancia”
The song was written by the Cuban maestro César Portillo de la Luz in 1946. It’s a fusion of jazz and bolero. Initially, the author did not intend it for personal gain; however, its destiny was different.
    The Inspiring Story
When Maestro Portillo was 25, he had a girlfriend in his native Cuba, who, driven by necessity, decided to leave for the United States in search of a better future than the one she felt she would have if she stayed. He, like any man in love, begged her in a thousand and one ways not to leave him, promising he would do everything in his power for her well-being; however, he could not convince her, and she left anyway. It was then that, from that pain, with the sorrow of feeling abandoned, the lyrics of what would later become a Latin American classic sprang forth; a song that, from its first performance by the Mexican singer Fernando Fernández (1948), through the great renditions by the Mexican singer Luis Miguel and the pop star Christina Aguilera, remains alive in countless hearts to this day.
“Contigo en la distancia” has comforted many lovers in their moments of sadness and hope amidst despair; and it is a true pleasure for me to sing it for you today. I truly hope you enjoy it.
    Here are the lyrics
There isn’t a moment of the day
When I can tear myself away from you
    The world seems different
When you’re not by my side
    There’s no beautiful melody
    In which you don’t appear
Nor do I want to hear it
If you aren’t listening to it
    It’s because you’ve become
    A part of my soul
    Nothing comforts me anymore
    If you aren’t there too
    Beyond your lips
    Beyond your lips
Beyond the sun and the stars
    With you in the distance
    My beloved, I am
    Until the next song!
    **Thank you for being here...**

  • Hive Music Festival Week 182 Round 2 "Historia de un Amor" cover by @esthersanchez
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/4181893e
    ENGLISH VERSION:
The song “Historia de un Amor” by Eydie Gormé, originally written by Carlos Almaran, has been one of the most iconic songs of Gormé's career since its first performance in 1967. It has been covered by various artists and remains relevant to this day.
Edith Gormezano, better known as Eydie Gormé (born in New York on August 16, 1928), was not only a virtuosic singer but also an incredible actress, leaving behind an immeasurable artistic legacy.
“Historia de un Amor” is an ode to heartbreak. It tells the story of a lover who gave everything for the relationship and yet, in the end, realized that the one she/he truly loved with all her/his heart was herself/himself.
“... You are no longer by my side, my heart.”
The song itself is a clear expression of the point at which sadness takes hold of a person to such an extent that they lose the meaning and reason for which they lived.
“... Without your love, I will not live.”
It is also a portrait of a loyalty built on love for that special someone, without any expectation of receiving anything in return.
“... In your kisses I found the warmth you gave me, the love and passion.”
    LYRICS:
You’re no longer by my side, my love
In my soul, I have only loneliness And if I can no longer see you
Why did God make me love you
Just to make me suffer more?
You were always the reason for my existence
    Worshipping you was my religion
And in your kisses I found
    The warmth you gave me
    The love and the passion
It is the story of a love
    Like no other
That made me understand all the good, all the bad
That brought light to my life
    And then extinguished it
    Oh, what a dark life
Without your love I will not live

  • SABOR A MÍ - Bolero versión por @esthersanchez
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/88e53432
    **Hola, amigos!**

    **Hello, friends!**
I hope you’re having a wonderful week with your loved ones.
Today I want to share a song with you, a bolero classic: “Sabor a mi” (from 1959). It was written by the Mexican composer and singer Álvaro Carrillo.
Although it was released in ’59, it wasn’t until a year later, in 1960, that it became a hit in Mexico. This song has, if you will, a somewhat tragicomic origin because, according to his son, it was the product of a night of cognac. Álvaro Carrillo was having a few drinks with his girlfriend, and apparently, between sips, he would kiss her. The girl complained, saying, “If you keep kissing me like this, you’re going to get me drunk,” and he replied, “Now you’ll taste like me.”
And so, according to the gossip, that night gave rise to what turned out to be a huge musical hit at the time.
We wanted to change up the rhythm a bit to give it a livelier feel. I hope you enjoy it!!

  • Hive Music Festival -Week 181 Round 1 "Unforgettable" cover by @esthersanchez
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/d8d2ed37
Hola, estimados amigos.
Unforgettable That's what you are Unforgettable
    Though near or far
    Like a song of love
    That clings to me
    How the thought of you
    Does things to me
Never before Has someone been more Unforgettable
    In every way And forevermore
    That's how you'll stay
    That's why, darling It's incredible
    That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am Unforgettable too.
    ENGLISH VERSION:
Hello, dear friends. I hope you’ve had a great start to the week and that you’re all in good health.
Over here, I’m full of positive energy and eager to share more music with you. This time, it’s “Unforgettable,” a beautiful song dedicated to our loved ones. This song was one of the first I started singing as I was learning English pronunciation, and I’ve always loved singing it.
It was written by Irvin Gordon, and although it was originally titled “Uncomparable,” the composer was asked to change it, which he did, resulting in the version we know today since 1951, made famous by Nat King Cole. Years later, his daughter, Natalie, revived it and sang it as if she had been singing it with her father, using a recording from a live performance in the 1980s. The song was a huge hit, reaching number 14 on the Billboard Top 100 chart. It is a song classified within the jazz genre.
This song has always felt special to me, not only because of its lyrics—an ode to love expressed in such a beautiful way that highlights what it means to be loved—but also because it conveys the reciprocity of that love and admiration: “That’s why, darling, it’s incredible that someone so unforgettable thinks that I am unforgettable, too.”
Here are the lyrics, in case you want to sing along:
Unforgettable That's what you are Unforgettable
    Though near or far
    Like a song of love
    That clings to me
    How the thought of you
    Does things to me
Never before Has someone been more Unforgettable
    In every way And forevermore
    That's how you'll stay
    That's why, darling It's incredible
    That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am Unforgettable too.
It has been a pleasure to sing and share this moment with you. Until the next song.

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/vccgxqks
¡Hola, estimados amigos!
    Letra:
The shadow of your smile When you are gone
Will color all my dreams And light the dawn
Look into my eyes My love and see
All the lovely things You are to me
Our wistful little star Was far too high
A teardrop kissed your lips And so did I
    Now when I remember spring
All the joy that love can bring I will be remembering
    The shadow of your smile
    ¡Hasta la próxima canción!

  • Hive Open Mic week 308 - "Luka" cover song by @esthersanchez
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/paljdijh
    ¡Hola, estimados amigos!

    Hello, dear friends!
I hope you are all doing well and in good health.
Today I’m sharing my cover of the song “Luka.” The song was written and performed by American singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega and released in May 1987. It was her biggest hit on the U.S. charts, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. Globally, the song peaked at number one in Sweden and reached the Top 10 in Austria, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa. It received nominations for the 1988 Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Vega also recorded a Spanish-language version of the song, included on the single’s release.
When we talk about “Luka,” we can’t just refer to it as just another song—one of those that wins awards and is famous solely for that reason. “Luka” stands out because it carries a message. Its lyrics address an issue that, for many years, people have tried to ignore or hide behind a more euphemistic phrase: “teaching a lesson so they’ll learn.” “Teaching a lesson so they’ll learn” is as old as child abuse itself and is something that was long normalized in many homes while, at the same time, being frowned upon by many.
In a 2018 documentary, Vega spoke about the meaning of her song:
“I wanted to write about child abuse… I had to figure out how to write about a topic that nobody talks about."
For me, this has always been a very special song, both because of its lyrics and the way it addresses the issue of child abuse through a beautiful song that tells a story inspired by observations of life.
To share it with you, I accompanied myself with a backing track I found online.

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/meygjjhd
    Feliz presente, querida comunidad.

    Hello, dear community.
I hope you’re having a great week and that your weekend is even better.
The song I want to share with you is called “Una Especie en extinción,” a 1980s pop-rock ballad performed by the Peruvian-Venezuelan singer Melissa Griffiths. The song stands out for its romantic theme and became popular during the height of Melissa’s career, when she was known as “The Queen of Rock” in Venezuela. It was used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera in my country.
At that time and ever since, it has been known as one of the most popular romantic ballads in Venezuela. Although there isn’t much material available on this topic, we know it played an important role in the artist’s career.
    Just a little story
I remember that, back then, at home, my mom used to watch a soap opera on TV that aired at 9 p.m., called “Y la luna también” (And the Moon Too). The music always caught my attention, and even though I didn’t pay much attention to the lyrics, the melody always captivated me. Later on, when I was old enough to understand things, I wondered, “How could Mom let me listen to that song?”
Today I see it as a very beautiful song that holds the greatest secret in a romantic relationship: always finding something new in the other person, no matter how long you’ve been together, adding positively to the relationship. Someone who once referred to that theme called it “the surprise of the familiar body,” always with the unwavering determination to remain together throughout life.
I am eternally grateful to my life partner, my favorite guitarist @orlandognzalez. I can never thank him enough.
I hope you like it. Until the next song.

  • Hive Open Mic week 307 "Salmos" - Salmo 34 song by @esthersanchez
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/wotxyxfz
    1
    Bendeciré al Señor en todo momento;
su alabanza estará continuamente en mi boca.
    2
    Mi alma se gloriará en el Señor;
los humildes lo oirán y se alegrarán.
    3
    Oh, magnificad al Señor conmigo,
    y exaltemos juntos su nombre.
    4
Busqué al Señor, y él me respondió
y me libró de todos mis temores.
    Espero les guste.
¡Tengan un feliz Fin de Semana!
    ENGLISH VERSION:
Hello, dear friends of Hive Open Mic!
The Bible has always been and will always be the greatest incentive for those of us who faithfully believe in God's promises. For this reason, I feel that there is no specific moment or special reason to praise and thank Him for His mercy toward us.
Mom used to say that it was very easy to sing praises to God when everything was going well, but that doing so when we were going through difficult times brought us greater benefits, even if it was hard to believe. When I heard my mother say these things, I didn't really understand her. It didn't make sense to me, and it was only much later that I was able to see it for myself. When we give thanks in good times, it may seem natural, but it is precisely when we give thanks in times of need that God, in His providence, rewards us by giving us joy and hope in the midst of difficulty. We understand then that, to the extent that we are grateful and praise the name of the Lord, we obtain peace in the midst of the storm.
David knew this. He understood that his strength, his joy, and his peace could only come from God, who was with him in times of joy as well as in his worst moments. So I can say without fear of contradiction that just as God is with us at all times, we must be grateful.
The Psalm I brought this week to share in this song is Psalm 34:1-4, which says:
    1
    I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
    2
    My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
the humble shall hear of it and be glad.
    3
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt His name together.
    4
I sought the Lord, and He answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
    I hope you like it.
    Have a happy weekend!

    ¡Hola, queridos amigos!
    YOU´RE MY EVERYTHING

    Hello, dear friends!
It's a new week, a new opportunity to share songs and good vibes with all those who make this popular platform come alive week after week.
For many, it's difficult to believe in love, let alone fall in love. How can you do or undertake something you don't believe in? For others, on the contrary, it's difficult to imagine life without loving and being loved. This is something we could talk about another time, but the truth is that it is a feeling to which many songs have been dedicated, and I have brought one of them to share with you.
    THE SONG
    YOU'RE MY EVERYTHING
This is a song by the group SANTA ESMERALDA from 1977. It was performed by the singer Leroy Gomez and was very popular on the radio at the time. The song was part of an album that fused disco music with flamenco and Latin elements, although this particular song was a love ballad.
When this song was on the radio, I was six years old and at that time an older cousin looked after us while Mom and Dad were at work, and I remember that she had a belt that she always threatened us with, threats that never materialized, and which became a microphone cord when she played that song in the background and began to sing, "torturing the English language" while we slowly ate a snack she had prepared for us. This is a memory I bring to you to highlight how excellently this song was performed, that even my cousin, without knowing or understanding anything about the language, seemed to feel everything she was saying when she "sang" it.
To do this, I was accompanied by my eternal partner in life and in music, @orlandogonzalez, with his guitar and sound. I hope you like it and enjoy it.
Hugs and see you with a new song.

  • Hive Open Mic week 306 "Máscara" - Más que nada cover song by @esthersanchez
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=esthersanchez/gidksgcu
    ENGLISH VERSION
Hello, dear friends of this incredible community!
A time of celebration has just ended. A time when many countries celebrate with great joy and, to do so, it is customary to dress differently: wearing costumes with a variety of colors and sparkles. Some add “masks” to their outfits, giving their costumes a touch of mystery that sometimes arouses curiosity in others.
While it is true that the song I chose for this occasion does not mention masks, it is also true that it is a song closely related to the festive atmosphere and carnival due to its cheerful and harmonious rhythm.
    Más que Nada
According to Wikipedia, the expression “Más que nada” is commonly translated as “of course,” “yes, of course!” or “it doesn't matter,” and the song celebrates the joy of Brazilian music.
It is a song by Jorge Ben, recorded on his first LP, “Samba Esquema Novo” in 1965 and re-recorded by Sergio Mendez in 1966. This song has been performed by many renowned artists, including the Black Eyed Peas in 2006. It was chosen in 2013 to be included in the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame and was considered by “The Brazilian Rolling Stone” magazine as the best Brazilian song in history.
I wanted to share it with you in its original language, so I took on the challenge of singing it in Portuguese, even though I don't speak the language very well. To make this song, I used a track that I had saved in my files for some time as background music and sang over it.
I really hope you enjoy it. Take care, and see you next time with another song!
    Here are the lyrics:
This samba is a mix of maracatu
It's samba de preto velho, samba de pretutu
    But no way
A samba like this is so cool
You won't want me to reach the end
    Ô-ariá-a-raiô
    Obá, obá, obá
    Ô-ariá-a-raiô
    Obá, obá, obá
This samba that's a mix of maracatu
It's samba de preto velho, samba de pretutu
    But, no way
A samba like this, so cool
You won't want me to reach the end
    Ô-ariá-a-raiô
    Obá, obá, obá
    Ô-ariá-a-raiô
    Obá, obá, obá
