Wisebeat (Istanbul, Turkey)

@wisebeat

As an explorer and wideband musician Wisebeat has very quickly widen his range from Progressive Deep Tech to Tech House, Ethnic / Afro Tech to Techno according to the charateristics of the audience, the venue to perform and specific requirement of the performance.

Whisebeat has excelled his DJ skills around the harmonic mixing principles, caring about the melody and vocal presence in his selected tracks, and creating a new live performance style called ‘Mashmixing’ instead of just mixing from track to another.

Segundo (Berlin, Germany)

✫SUPPORT✫

@Segundo

Segundo started his career in electronic music in his hometown of Porto, Portugal. At 19 he moved to London, where he quickly picked up pace with the local scene, with gigs in Corsica Studios, Crucifix Lane, Egg and a DJ residency in a series of private underground events that would make Berlin blush.

Having shared line ups with artists such as Basement Jaxx, Extrawelt, Pan-Pot, Session Viction, Dense & Pika & many more, his DJ sets have developed into a signature sound which will get you on your feet as soon as the first beat drops.

The music boils down to 3 things - rhythm, melody and feeling. Contagious drum beats overlaid with soul-infused synths, all injected with his own playfulness intended to keep you dancing way past the sun's come up.

An avid music collector with an extensive library, Segundo compiles mixes to suit many moods, including his blissful Breakfast in Bed mix series, so make sure you head over to his profile to discover some more.

★ ADDITIONAL INFO ★

"De Kunstenaar" is the Dutch term for "The Artist". But why did he choose De Kunstenaar as his name? That’s because of his second hobby - which is that he likes to paint. Music is art too, so here we are.

De Kunstenaar started creating tribute mixtapes, mainly to expand his mixing capabilities to the fullest - and to be clear, meaning no offence to the artists - it was not his intention to make the audience think these mixes were made by the artist(s) themselves. It's disappointing not every artist sees it like this.

Well, his life certainly is a 4-beat loop: Eat, Work, Love, Sleep. And this in repeat mode. Most mixes by "De Kunstenaar" are based on a 4-beat loop, because that is so nice and easy for the brain to listen to.

His love for electronic music started when he first entered a club called Zillion, in Antwerp (Belgium) back in 1999 or 2000. He admired the DJs that played there - and all he could do was dream about standing behind those decks himself one day - no matter how much effort it would cost. Of course Tiësto was his great inspirer in those days :)

Besides his hobby mixes which you will find here , "De Kunstenaar" also has a fulltime job at the office - a warm house - a baby girl - and a caring and loving wife. He also likes to paint once in a while. You can view some of the paintings he has made at his facebook page.

I've started preparing this mix on a long train ride to the city where I was born - Ternopil, Ukraine. Over my brief stay in Kyiv, I've been listening to more minimal house and techno which had a large influence on the mix. I love when a few percussion elements and the odd synth frequencies speak to each other and create a natural head nodding groove. Curating this mix was a pleasure as the tracks mixed as if they belonged together. I hope you enjoy the story and reach out to me on my page @roman
