Estonian tech company Respiray has developed a wearable UV air purifier that they say disinfects breathable air while allowing the face to remain fully visible, as seen in Tallinn on Wednesday.

The company's website says that the device “disinfects the air you breathe in with invisible UV-C light and inactivates over 99 percent of viruses and bacteria in the air.” The device “purifies up to 55 litres of air per minute” which is believed to be at least three times more than an average human normally breathes.

"We have only prototypes so far, production will be in a week or two. We already have first customers, so we already have more orders than we can produce in March, for example," said the CEO of Respiray, Indrek Neivelt.

The report says the efficiency test was handled in the University of Tartu with alphavirus, which is 'similar' to the COVID-19 both in RNA-genome and size. “The results concluded that 99,4 percent of the virus particles were inactivated,” it says.

Business began operating at full capacity in the state of Texas on Wednesday after governor Greg Abbott announced the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Yasuo Takamatsu lost his wife Yuko when a tsunami hit the town of Onagawa, in Miyagi prefecture, 10 years ago.

The 64-year-old got his diving license two years later to try to find her remains, and for seven years, he goes on weekly dives - 470, and counting.

"I dive as if I'm going to meet her someplace," he says. "I'm always thinking that she may be somewhere nearby."

Besides his solo dives, once a month he also joins local authorities as they conduct underwater searches for some 2,500 people whose remains are still unaccounted for across the region.

So far, he has found albums, clothes and other artifacts, but nothing that belonged to his wife.

These strawberries grow in eight high-tech greenhouses where computers set the temperature and humidity to optimum growing conditions. That's right, computers ensure the rows of bushes are sprayed with water at precise times.

The farm markets the “Migaki Ichigo” brand strawberries to fancy department stores in Tokyo, where they go for as much as 1,000 yen or about $10 per piece, as well as to customers overseas in other parts of Asia and even the Middle East.

A Trump-era immigration rule denying green cards to immigrants who use public benefits like food stamps was dealt likely fatal blows Tuesday after the Biden administration dropped legal challenges, including before the Supreme Court.

Continuing to defend the rule “is neither in the public interest nor an efficient use of limited government resources,” the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.

The Supreme Court won’t weigh in on the legality of the so-called public charge rule because of an agreement by the Biden administration and the parties and states challenging it. The Justice Department also dropped objections to a ruling before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, upholding a federal judge’s November order striking down the rule nationwide.
