Paul exhorts and admonishes Christians to live in the light of truth and be willing to expose our propensities to dark sexuality outside of God's beautiful design. We need the Spirit's power to enable us to live sexually countercultural as we are being instructed to live in these 14 verses. May God help us!

We, as Christians, filled with the Holy Spirit, live in a new and (somewhat) surprisingly beautiful way that causes human flourishing. We must put away all that causes the Spirit of God to be grieved or saddened and harms others. Let's walk in the light as he is in the light and see how God moves through us!

As Christians, we are to live very different lives than we once lived. We are made new by the power of God and now we must live out this newness. We must first see ourselves as new, then we must call on God's power as we live out this newness for God's glory and the good of all we come in contact with.

We as Christians are now defined by Jesus! We must walk or live as Christ lived. He has given us "everything required for life and godliness." Let's strive by the Holy Spirit's power to put off the old us and put on the new us!

God has given people as gifts to his church, for the building up of his church. According to Ephesians 4:7 & 11-12 there are 5 main types of people who function either apostolically, prophetically, evangelistically, pastorally, or as teachers. Every Christian will find themselves functioning stronger to weaker in each of these five giftings for the equipping and building up of the church.

Light and life is in Jesus. He came to earth not only to give light and life but to bear our darkness, that we too might join and unite to his light and have eternal life. This is Christmas, Emmanuel, God with us!

We see in these several verses that in our Christian unity there is unique variety and diversity. God has given every Christian specific gifts and Spirit-empowered functions of Jesus for the equipping and building up the church. How has God wired you?

Christians have tremendous potential unity inherently built into their experience as Christians. In these three verses, Paul presents seven truths or statements of reality that unite all true Christians. We need more focus on what binds us together rather than what divides us!

In this passage of scripture, Paul gives us five gospel-keys to unity within the church that we must practice in order to become what we already are: spiritually one in Jesus! If we are able to live out this unity we will be able to work together to see God's kingdom spread throughout the globe as we make disciple making discples.
