It’s been a brutal few weeks for the lower city of Hamilton. Our friend has gone missing, LRT was cancelled (leaving much of King Street abandoned), a seven-year-old child was shot in his home, and those are just the stories we’ve heard about. As followers of Jesus, we refuse to give darkness even one more uncontested minute. There is evil in our city, but there is also a light shining in the darkness which will not, and cannot, be overcome. This Sunday we shine a light from our city below a hill, spotlighting the ordinary, everyday saints who incarnate our city, and celebrate how God is using us all to kick at the darkness until it bleeds daylight.
