Why do certain countries seem to act with a more group consciousness vs. others where individual liberty is paramount over all? Is it a result of politics today, or does it go much further back in our history. Did the suffering & success of our forefathers epigenetically imprint our consciousness today to shape this? 

Or are we just drunk?
