Are Europeans lazy? Do Americans only care about money and things? Why do Americans act entitled from a customer service perspective while most Europeans will "take what they are given?" What happens when all of these differences collide together in an increasingly 'borderless' world?

Are we living in crazy world? One of the GOATS of tennis is detained and banned from Australia for 3 years while Boris Johnson makes a violent u-turn and re-opens the UK with an impassioned parliament speech. Omicron ushers in a new, even more, chaotic world of differing vaccine mandates & regulations. If that isn't enough, some folks are still worried about how to clean their backside as the great toilet paper shortage continues.

 

Seem like a lot? Yeah, we all need a drink.

We start off asking if conservatism has become the new counter-culture and quickly dive into the idea of quotas and try to understand why people can‘t elevate facts over feelings. We spend a good amount of time reminding you all we aren‘t racists as we discuss facts because somehow this is the world we live in. 

How long do empires last on average? Around 250 years? Ahh, makes sense. 1776+250=2026. So America has about 5 years left....

We start discussing the recent trend of tearing down statues in America and Europe without any consideration for historical context or the positive impact on humanity also brought by these folks. As usual, as the whiskey begins to flow the conversation goes significantly off on several other courses, including free associating what the psychopaths must have been like who would sign up on a mission to discover the new world. This one is anything but boring folks.

 

And why are there Egyptian hieroglyphics of helicopters and planes? Is this evidence of interdimensional aliens or perhaps even the multiverse?

What starts as a discussion sparked by the news that a Facebook whistleblower exposed the ways the company ”controls the narrative” quickly turns into a surprisingly heated debate between Daniel and Alex on the right of businesses to impose a vaccine mandate for their customers. My body, my choice? Or viewing the unvaxxed as a danger to the community and society as large.

We take the Political Compass test (https://www.politicalcompass.org/) to see where we fall on the left/right scale with authoritarian/libertarian intersection. What do we learn? You‘ll have to listen to find out, but perhaps the greatest learning of all is that there is little representation for most of our feelings in today‘s ruling governments. Additionally there‘s little difference between so-called ‘left‘ and ‘right‘ anymore.

Basically, we‘re screwed.

What starts as a classic debate on free speech differences between the United States & the rest of the world somehow mounts into a rambling diatribe about the right to be 600 pounds and obese, change your gender and have it paid for, or to take a vaccine or not. 

Does our own rational approach towards unpacking these topics lead to changed perspectives by episode end? Maybe, but you'll have to listen to be sure.

We are stunned by photos of a border agent mounted on a horse wielding a leather whip on Haitian immigrants on the Texas border - how did the Haitians get there? Why do American law enforcement carry leather whips? So many questions and few answers.

We dive into the larger immigration debate - one with few answers and a lot of bad actors taking advantage of those desperate for a better life.
