The Labor government has set a target of 50 percent of new car sales to be electric by 20-30 but that is looking increasingly aspirational as sales of EVs slump.
Despite heavy discounting, demand for electric vehicles has slowed, with sales of Tesla’s down 49 per cent in September and 19 per cent year to date.
Some of this slack is being picked up by new entries … but it’s Hybrids that are really turning heads in the car yard.
