When People Have a Mind to Work

When people have no desire to work they perish.

When people are willing to work there is unity, purpose, and success.

20% of people do 80% of the work and give 80% of the money. if 100% of the people used the gift(s) they were given the Church could not be contained. Revival follows people who are sold out for God.

When people have a heart to work there is opposition from the inside and from the outside.

This is My Story Pt.4 looks at the topic of prayer. First by looking into the passage Luke 11: 5 - 13 then by hearing Joan Robinson's story about how she became a woman of prayer.

Passage Note:

It's human nature to not want to be bothered by the needs of others sometimes but that's not God's nature.

The man in the story who had a visitor come to his house late at night was un prepared so he went to a friend for help. After approaching the friend with boldness the friend helped the man in need. When situations happen in our lives we are not always prepared for them, that's ok. We can always come to God with boldness and He is always able and willing to help.

When the world defames our faith, God is patient with the world just as He was patient with us when we defamed Him.

God is patient, but He will not be mocked for long and He will bring justice.

God is always working in the background.

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that only Daniel was abd to interpret. The king paid no attention to what God was saying to him -King Nebuchadnezzar's time was up.

Our challenge: we can not ask God to change others if we are not willing to be changed first. be willing to humble our hearts and hear from God.

When God calls us to do something He gives us clear direction and a blessing.
God will never be in debt to us. When He calls us He gives us more then He requires of us.

Are you settled into a comfortable place with God?

Where are you going?
Our story shouldn't only consist of what God has done in the past, it should also include what God is doing now.

He is not only the Abraham, Issac, and Jacob; He is also the the God of right now.

What does the word eternal mean?
Eternal – Having neither beginning or end of existence; infinite in duration.

What do we experience in eternity?

In eternity we will either have eternal punishment Rev. 20:10 & 15 or we will have eternal life 2Cor. 5:8 and Rev. 21:4.

What will you do with Jesus the Messiah?

Within the gender identity debate there needs to be a third question that is asked.

When all we ask is "Is the gender debate right?" or "Is the gender debate wrong?" all we get is a two sided argument with a yes and no side. We need to ask the question "Why do any of us live attracted to anything that is against God's will for us?"

We all have impulses that we desire; lying, gossiping, stealing, to choose a different identity that what we are physically identified as. To be a Christian is to live above these impulses. The church needs to stop being against people who have homosexual desires or desires to choose a different gender. The church needs these people. We all have impulses that need to live above. The church needs people no matter what they desire. We can all live above our desires and help others to do the same. 

There are 3 distinct words Hebrew words used in the Old Testiment to describe love raya, ahava, and dod.

Raya - Friendship
Ahava - Willful Commitment
Dod - Romantic Love

One type of love is built upon another.
