This Sunday’s evening service is about what the church, the Body of Christ, is called to do.

Pastor Nathan Hill begins by discussing the fall of man and how we continually walked away from God. At the right time God sent His son Jesus as the final way to restore the relationship between God and man. Part of God’s plan to restore mankind is through the work of the Holy Spirit with the Church doing the work.

Pastor Nathan then continues with the gifts that each member of the Church has been given by the Holy Spirit. This is followed by an unpacking of the Great Commission.

We are left with this thoughts a summery of Congregational Theology: We are called to make disciples by the example that we set before people.

In this sermon Bud Hurlburt starts the sermon by asking how we feel when we are wounded so we can reflect on times past when we have been wounded.

He then moves into the idea that we are saved and live by grace. God's heals our wounded heart because of grace not because we have worked hard enough for it. He then goes on to look at what human sinfulness really is and our hope for our wounded sinful heart.

In this sermon Pastor Nathan Hill returns to the passage that he used in his first sermon here at Evangel Assembly Yarmouth 1 year ago. He opens by recollecting that first service and what was spoke about in that first sermon.

In todays sermons he looks at the meaning of the two things the angel said to the prophet:
1. Not by might or by power... but by My Spirit
2. Do not despise the day of small things

In this message Pastor Nathan Hill talks about the sabbath and its purpose.

The passage in Exodus we are reminded that we need to take a break and trust that God is in control.

The passage in Deuteronomy reminds us that we don't work for God's approval. It also reminds us of the freedom we have in Christ and that we are loved by Him.

On this podcast Pastor Nathan Hill asks the question "Why do we rely so heavily on mankind instead of God and His salvation?"

We then look at the church and ask how shall we be saved if we neglect God's great salvation. The main point being is how can we be sure that we don't stray from our faith. The answer, we need to be careful about what goes into our mind/lives. If good goes in then it will be our new nature for good to come out.

In this message Pastor Nathan Hill explores the 23rd Psalm. As he begins by talking about this the need to slowdown in difficult times he unpacks the passges. Is it is being unpacked we see that the Psalmist begins talk to the reader about the Lord. As the situation in the Psalm turns to difficulties the writer addresses the Lord directly as one who cares for us.

Pastor Nathan Hill explores the passage and looks at why action must accompany faith. The bible tells us we are saved by faith but we must also remember that our faith must compel us to take action and love our neighbor. The two are intrinsically linked together.

Pastor Nathan then looks at this passage and compares it to the Apostle Paul's writing in Romans that tells us we are saved by faith.

Pastor Nathan then follows with the question "Are we saved by faith or so we need to do something with that faith?" The answer - Yes.

In this podcast guest speaker Pastor Dan Dunnit looks through a passage in Ex. 12 and discusses some points from there. He then ties the Passover into the Passion Week of Jesus ending with a call to share at the Lord's table of communion.

In this weeks morning sermon Bud Hurlbert starts off with an illustration of chess and goes on to talk about how to deal with life when our backs are against the wall.

He then discusses Daniel and how he lived a life that brought honour to God. This put Daniel in a place where his back was against the wall. The King had one more move to save him.

In this podcast Rev. James Weller begins by telling the story about his first time in Russia behind the iron curtain. Rev. Weller puts an emphasis on how grateful the people were to worship regardless of the fact that they had no church, pews, had to meet outside in the rain sometimes, etc.

After telling a fantastic story of an old lady who received a bible for the first time he asks a pointed question, “What does the bible mean to you?”

He continues with a current story that happened just a month ago. The story is about a pastor who was beaten many times because he shared his faith. Even though this pastor was beaten severely he was one of the few that was blessed because he had a bible. After this he continues with several other recent stories of what God is doing and the difficulties that are beginning to be put in place by the Russian government.
