Immigration is a controversial subject in the U.S. and the American church. Since the nation’s founding, immigration has been a consistent catalyst for church growth and vitality. We will explore the dynamics of the relationship between immigration and the church and how immigration policy affects people of Christian faith who come to the U.S. and become members of our faith communities.

As many of our churches desire to reach the next generation, one question we are constantly asking is, “How?” This workshop doesn’t provide “3 easy steps to guarantee young people,” but it does look at the trends and desires of Gen Z and beyond as we attempt to minister to them within our churches.

From its inception, the Friends movement held that women are called to positions of ministry leadership. This workshop provides an overview of the theological grounding for women in ministry leadership and a snapshot of the great contribution of female leaders in the Eastern Region’s history.

This interactive session will explore the experiences of women in ministry through reflection, storytelling, and discussion. In an effort to analyze and authenticate the roles, responsibilities, and realities that surround this all-important work in the life of the church, participants will hear from panelists and also have the opportunity to use their voices. We will consider the potential, power, and ordained position of everyone who chooses to become a leader in the work of ministry in God’s kingdom.

We believe God wants every church to grow, especially those churches currently under 100 people in average Sunday attendance. We desire to help a willing church average 100+ people in Sunday attendance. Even more, our mission is to double the number of small groups, leaders, volunteers, disciples, and gospel conversations. Our goal is to accomplish this in one year’s time. You will learn the power of vision, strategy, and, more importantly, how to shape the culture that carries the vision.
