  • Hope in a Promise
The sermon explores the early church's unwavering expectation of Christ's imminent return as depicted in 1 Thessalonians. It argues that this hope was not merely a future prediction but the primary motivation for holy living and evangelism among believers. The preacher contrasts this biblical focus on personal readiness with the modern tendency to obsess over prophetic signs and identifying the Antichrist. By citing multiple New Testament passages, the message emphasizes that the certainty of Jesus' return should purify one's life and strengthen communal encouragement today. Ultimately, the central call is to live in constant spiritual preparedness rather than speculative date-setting.

  • John-Greatest Among Men
In the economy of the Old Testament, Jesus states that John is the greatest one born of a woman. Of all the OT prophets, John was the only one who got to introduce the Expected One to the world. The time of the Messiah had come. The time of being able to receive "hearts made of flesh" was very close. The first part of the ministry of the Messiah had begun under John's watch and proclamation. And yet, Jesus said something more. He proclaimed that He who was in His kingdom was greater than John. Within the human dimension of history, there had never been one who was greater than John. But a new spiritual dimension was about to begin...a time when God would indwell mankind by His Spirit and would initiate a new relationship as being heirs in the household of God. In this new era, there is no one greater than any other one with regard to status of being in Christ. In this new sense, we are all equal before God. This is not talking about roles within the church, but rather it is talking about the equality before God of all the redeemed. This is the beginning of the high calling of God, given in our justification, sanctification and glorification in Christ the Lord.

  • I Timothy 4:10 - The Savior of All
1 Timothy 4:10 states that God is the Savior of all people, particularly those who believe. Firmly rejecting the heresy of universalism, this truth fuels the urgent Christian mission to proclaim the gospel to every nation, as there are no second chances after death. By training in godliness and maintaining hope in Christ's return, believers are empowered to labor tirelessly in evangelism and church planting. The congregation is called to active participation in the Great Commission, offering salvation genuinely to all while trusting in God's sovereign purpose.
