Hey everyone, Dietra and David here... It's been a while. And a lot has transpired. We are here to discuss some of the changes that have happened in our life over the past year or two- namely, that we have ceased to pastor our own Protestant church that we were planting and we have entered into the process of being received into the Eastern Orthodox Church.

In this episode, we specifically hear a little bit from Dietra's experience of the Protestant doctrine Sola Scriptura unravelling in her life. We also generally discuss our journey into Orthodoxy and a little bit about how that happened.

Join us in this episode as we continue on in the rest of Connie & Larry Schwindt's story and they begin to tell us more about the events that led up to Calvin leaving the church to re-plant Offspring out of a dance studio in Eaton, Colorado.
Connie was a board member of Offspring Church and Larry was a Deacon and they both played an integral role in many of the day to day operations of the church.  They are in a unique position to tell us their story because they joined the church early on, before it was even called Offspring Church, and are able to give us some more insight on what happened before the Evans family arrived, and even more importantly- what happened after they left.

In this episode, we begin to tell the story of our relocation to Colorado to serve full time at Offspring Church in Pierce.  We had concerns about jumping into ministry immediately without having our home in order first, promises were made that were not honored and we began to see Calvin's pattern of dangling platforms in front of people, in order to ensure submissive lay leaders and attendees. In the next few episodes, we will begin to unpack the various types of malpractice that Calvin continues to conduct within the church.

In this episode, we talk about the beginning of Daybreak Mission and our final moments of the mission trip with the Pettigrew's in California. Calvin & Rebecca left to Colorado to revive Offspring Church and after much prayer, we decided to head back to Reno to serve at the House of Prayer and focus on growing in Worship and Teaching. We also talk a lot about the false personas and made up versions of his story that he heralds from the pulpit regularly and how differently his sermons can be interpreted depending on your proximity and relationship to him personally.

In this episode, we pick up where we left off in our story. We talked about how COVID affected our street ministry, as well as the "retreats" we took with the Pettigrew's. During the retreats in Carlsbad, Ventura and Northern California, we learned a lot about each other and invested time into our relationships. We also discussed a little more in detail concerning Offspring Church, and the secret revelation that Calvin claims to have received directly from God, setting the stage for the rise of cult-like theology and activity within his ministry.
