For over 3 years we have been running Even the Podcast is Afraid, entertaining our listeners & viewers of the show. However, all good things must come to an end, and so it is time to say goodbye to Even the Podcast is Afraid. Our lives have changed so much during the past 3 years to bring us to this point, but we will always remember the love & dedication our fans showed us through the show. So please join us in our final episode, as we say goodbye, and give one last Elbow Deep salute.

There is no doubt that scarecrows can be creepy. After all, they are associated with the end of the harvest and the dying off of the land. They also happen to be the focus of quite a few horror stories. While we seldom see scarecrows in their original form and in their natural elements today, there was a time when scarecrows were prevalent throughout Europe, Australia, and the United States. During these times, it was often hard to distinguish these mock humans from the living or, more often, from the recently deceased.

We discussed the the event that happened at the Sutton Family Farmhouse, where a terrified group saw invaders, strange creatures or aliens with oversized heads, talons, and yellowish eyes - that predated the Mothman sightings by 10 years. On November 15, 1966, two young couples from Point Pleasant, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Scarberry and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mallette, were driving through the TNT area in their Scarberrys' 1957 Chevy, when they noticed two big red eyes looking back at them from the darkness. on December 15, 1967 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia - the entire 1460-foot suspended portion of the Silver Bridge collapsed into the river, taking with it 32 vehicles and 46 victims. However, something happened in Point Pleasant not long before the bridge collapsed. Something that - to some - was the most terrifying and strange series of events they have ever experienced and - to others - was a really fun hoax with real world explanations. These strange events due to their proximity in time and location were forever linked to the Silver Bridge tragedy - were the strange events a prophetic warning or possibly a harbinger of the doom yet to come from the mysterious, Mothman?

In Stewartstown, PA there is a place called Rehmeyers Hollow where tales of hexerie, curses, witches, murders and hauntings are still told today. However, Well known among these pow wowers was a man named John Blymire. His alleged feats of magic include curing a dog of rabies and he was generally known for having fantastic luck. Luck is a random unprejudiced thing and as it always does, it ran out for Blymire.Bad fortune befell him, and of course, in this worldview in which a rabid dog could be cured with some magical words, this bad luck was seen as the work of an evil doer who was hexing him.

In Williams Township PA there exists a place in the woods called Hexenkopf Rock - it means Witch’s Head. However, Williams Township is not the only place in which these strange tales persist. In Stewartstown, PA there is a place called Rehmeyer's Hollow where tales of hexerie, curses, witches, murders and hauntings are still told today.
