After introducing the first vision, John is commanded to write a letter to seven churches. Ephesus is the first of the seven letters.

After the introduction to the letter, John introduces the first of 4 visions.

John opens his letter with two introductions: a prophetic intro as well as an epistle intro.

The Revelation of John uses a lot of symbolism, to understand the symbolism it is helpful to know the historical context of the letter. However, it is very important to not let the symbolism become the focal point, the focus should be on the glory of Christ!
