Last month, the first steel beams were installed as part of the construction of Calgary’s new $1.2 billion downtown arena and event centre. Most of the estimated 9,000 metric tonnes of steel going into the project comes from Ontario, with some from Alberta. Bob Hunter is apart of the Scotia Place project team.
