Every Day Conversion

After Christ called and ordained his apostles, he gave them power to perform their callings, as well as counsel for how to be successful.

While this counsel was specifically given to the original Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, there is much we can learn about fulfilling OUR callings from the counsel they received.

Today, we'll discuss those things.

Questions:

1. How do you see the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles today fulfilling this counsel?

2. What has Heavenly Father asked YOU to do?

3. How can you access His power to do those things you have been asked to do?

For bonus points, send a text or write a letter to your bishop or stake president today and tell them how much you appreciate what they do for their ward or stake...they'll REALLY appreciate it, I promise! :)

Many of us have heard the story of Jesus healing the man that was "sick with the palsy."

How he told him to "take up thy bed, and walk."

That is a powerful story...but what is even MORE powerful is what Christ said to the man BEFORE he healed his physical afflictions.

That is what we will discuss in today's episode...and what we can learn from it.

In Mark 4 the Savior gives the parable of the sower...but he doesn't explain the meaning of it to everyone present.

He waits until he is alone with just his apostles and closest disciples.

What can we learn from this?

It turns out, a lot.

That's what we discuss in this episode.

After the disciples had witnessed Christ heal numerous people, including bringing the centurion's servant back from the brink of death, they found themselves in a precarious position.

Out at sea in a "great tempest" that obviously had them thinking that they might not make it through alive.

This story is one that can teach us a lot about facing life's trials and challenges...and we're going to dig into it in this episode!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a Gospel of sacrifice.

Followers of Jesus Christ are often asked to give up those things they hold most dear, or at least be willing to do so if they are called upon.

The scriptures and church history are full of stories of such sacrifice.

In today's episode, we'll look at what the Savior himself said about sacrifice and discipleship.

The chapters for this week center on numerous accounts of people being healed from all manner of sicknesses and afflictions.

Two things are present in every one of those miracles - faith and the power of Jesus Christ.

In today's episode we will look at one of those miracles and see what we can learn about faith to apply in our own lives.

One of the adversary's favorite tactics is to make evil appear to be good. And that is just as true today as it was when Christ delivered the Sermon on the Mount so many years ago.

Often in today's culture and society we are told that we shouldn't judge others. We hear phrases like, "Don't judge me," "You can't judge me," and "Who am I to judge?"

But what does the Savior say about judging?

In today's episode, we'll dig into what it means to judge righteously...and how to avoid judging unrighteously.

Along the way, we'll get some help from Elder Lynn G. Robbins of the Presidency of the Seventy and the book, True to the Faith.

One of the most well known and oft recited passages in scripture is the Lord's Prayer found in Matthew 6.

In many protestant denominations, the Lord's Prayer is recited weekly and held in great reverence...but is that how the Lord intended it to be used?

Listen to this episode to learn more about the Lord's Prayer and have a gospel conversation with your family about the Lord's Prayer and your individual prayers.
