It has been stated, the greatest events of history are those which affect the greatest number for the longest periods. By this standard, no event could be more important to individuals or nations than the resurrection of the Master.  Let us join in humble awe as we review key truths.

Betrayal is a choice and the decision Judas made, influenced by Satan, was his choice, it was not something that was foreordained or predestined.  He agreed to 30 pieces of silver, the price for the death of a slave.  He mocked the Savior by kissing him on the cheek, a greeting of the time between friends. However, Jesus Christ, knew what was ahead and to Gethsemane He went. 

The scriptures are sparse in teaching us about Mary. However what we do have and post writings give us insights into the pure love and discipleship of Mary Magdalene. Mary was a true friend of Jesus Christ. We know that Mary was at the cross at Jesus’ death, she accompanied his body to its tomb. She wept at the tomb when the body of Christ was missing. She is the first witness to Christ’s resurrection.

They had plotted all night as to how to deal with this man who threatened their very existence. Having spent all night with how to rid themselves of this Jesus, they had opened their minds and hearts to murder as a viable option, just like Cain of old. Group think justification about this man who dared to clean their temple, embarrassing them, challenging their authority, He had to go!

He returns and with it a message to those responsible for keeping the house holy, a clear message as to their actions: "ye have made it a den of thieves."

Similar to the challenges or mortals today, less than five days later, many in the crowd would be shouting ”crucify him” a heartbreaking contrast to the Hosanna shout.

I wondered whether they felt their progress or whether they were more aware of “a furious wind” and the “many times [they were] buried in the depths of the sea” (Ether 6:6). Were they able to feel the Lord’s guiding hand through the “mountain waves which broke upon them,” the “great and terrible tempests,” and “the fierceness of the wind”
