“All You Need is Love” is the iconic title to the 1967 Beatles smash hit. For many, it’s become a philosophy of life. But is love this simple and straightforward? In today’s message, we are invited to rethink and re-experience love from the divine perspective. God is love and his love is the most powerful force in the world.

In a world of fake news, alternative facts, information overload, and media bias, it becomes increasingly important to cultivate discernment. Cultivating the ability to discern what to believe, engage culture and recognize what God is doing in this moment are vital to life and ministry for followers of Jesus.

At its core, Christianity is simple: believe in Jesus and love one another. Simple ≠ Easy. Instead of having hearts at rest in God’s presence, many of our experiences are hearts of unrest. So what do we do and where do we go to have a heart at rest?

When the children of Israel were in the desert on their way to the promised land, they had a tendency to look back and long for the past. The problem was that in reality their past was one of slavery and oppression. As we go through a type of social wilderness, the temptation would be to look back rather than look forward to the good things God is bringing us to. It’s time to “Dream On.”

Love is the Christian virtue and to be the distinguishing mark of the followers of Jesus. And yet, we struggle to live out a basic command like “love one another”. Why? In this message, we look at the example and essence of love in the life and death of Jesus as our model and motivation to love others well, particularly in a time of increasing selfishness and division.

No-one enjoys hypocrisy, when what we say we believe isn’t practiced. Many find a major disconnect between their faith and everyday life. So, how much should our beliefs impact our day-to-day lives? In this message, the answer is clear: how we live matters and reveals the authenticity of what we say we believe.

Ideas have consequences and what we believe really matters. From its beginnings, Christianity was radical in that anyone could become a Christian regardless of age, gender, social class, ethnicity or even religion. But what made a Christian distinct then? It was an authentic faith in the person and work of Jesus that was believed, confessed and lived out. This is the ultimate truth test.

This week we take a break from our sermon series on the book of 1 John to hear an inspiring testimony on how God answered the prayer of Jacob and Allison Moon to have children. The road God took them on was not easy, but He showed himself faithful.

The desires of our hearts are not bad in themselves, but if they are not ordered correctly, can lead us astray in many ways. Further, the desires of our hearts are a lot stronger than the power of our wills. In this message we look at how only God can help us put our heart loves into their proper order that we may flourish in every aspect of our lives.

God is light but we don’t always welcome light do we? In a dark room light is invasive making us feel exposed. In this message, we encounter a God who does expose us but out of deep love for us. God through Jesus has made every provision for what gets exposed in our lives, if we trust him for it.
