Citizens Trust Bank is one of the oldest Black owned banks in the country. Founded in Atlanta GA, it helped spearhead the growth of Atlanta as a cultural hub for Black business and home ownership helping to establish some of the most affluent areas for Black men and women in the country. Annie Malone was one of the first Black Women to be a millionaire in the Us, even before Madam CJ Walker who was one of her protégés. She developed schools and employed thousands of women worldwide. Majorie Joyner was also a successful pioneer in the hair care industry and inventor of the Permanent wave design on which she made improvements to what was the current design at that time. She worked with Madam CJ Walker and taught thousands of women.
