The concept of the Kingdom of God is woven throughout scripture from the first page to the last. It was Jesus' favorite topic, but today it is often a very misunderstood one. Join us as we trace this life-changing theme through the pages of scripture from the past, to the present, and into the future.

The roots of this concept are found in chapter one of Genesis where God creates human beings in his image so that we might rule his creation on his behalf as part of his kingdom. But at the start of the New Testament Jesus appears declaring that God's kingdom is arriving. What happened? Where did the kingdom go?

Following Jesus and being formed into his image is a life-long journey—the most important journey that we can ever walk. It can sometimes be a confusing journey but it's made much easier with both a map and a pathway to guide us.

The end goal of apprenticeship to Jesus is to do the things that he did, but how do we do that when we are not Jesus? What does it look like to do the things that Jesus did within the unique contours of our own lives in 2025 on the Central Coast?

This process of spiritual formation happens through the work of the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised his disciples in John 14. Through both power encounters and daily practices that excavate space in our busy lives, the Spirit of God transforms us from the inside out.

In an age where all sorts of people are vying for our attention, offering little of substance in return for our loyalty, Jesus of Nazareth stands alone as the one who can offer us life in all its fullness. Giving us a method of following him that is just as transformational today as it was for his first apprentices 2,000 years ago, Jesus begins by inviting us to simply be with him—to learn to value and enjoy his presence both in our individual lives and as we gather together.
