This excerpt from the premier episode of "Celebrating 150 years in El Dorado" discusses the Souther Kansas Stage Company that conducted four-horse coaches between Emporia and El Dorado beginning in 1870. Trail ruts from this road that brought immigrants and visitors to Eldorado can still be seen today on the North end of El Dorado.

Captain Edgar Dale American Legion Post #81 erected markers and flags on the graves of veterans, at each of the three cemeteries in El Dorado which are Belle Vista, Sunset Lawns and Walnut River on Friday and Saturday mornings, prior to Memorial Day.
On Monday, an American Legion Honor Guard presented a 21-Gun Salute and played Taps at Sunset Lawns.

Ruby Virginia Frisby and Pleas George Ball "Junior" met when she was 13 years old and working on the Nuttle Cattle Ranch.
Their romance bloomed through letters the couple wrote to each other beginning in 1940 and continued during WWII while Junior was stationed in the South Pacific, and Virginia worked as a Rosie the Riveter for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas.
This is their story.
