Pastor Brad interviews Pastor Derik as he unpacks for us the news of his pastoral transition and shares updates on timeline and process for the whole church
Pastors Brad and Derik come back to wrap up season one by reflecting on the previous year of stepping into our healing journeys as a church. There is also discussion on what's next for those who have taken healing steps and how the church is positioned to move outward into new prophetic and evangelistic spaces.
Pastors Brad and Derik reflect personally on their own healing journey's from the last few months as a follow up and overflow from last week's conversation on the healing prayer huddle.
Pastors Derik and Brad recap and share stories of God's faithfulness to those who attended Evergreen's first training huddle on healing and deliverance March 14-15th, 2025. They discuss what happened, how it happened, and what YOU can expect from the next one. This training huddle will take place twice a year from here on out.
Pastors Brad and Derik continue the conversation from last time on "uprooting strongholds of death" by contrasting with fruits of spirit. Galatians 5:13-26 serves as a backdrop for conversation.
The Evergreen staff engage in a "down in the dirt" conversation about identifying strongholds of death in a very practical sense in order for all of us to take a next step of healing. Shame is one stronghold that's specifically explored.
Here's the field guide Elise made to help us:
Field Guide on Uprooting Strongholds of Death
Pastor Derik shares wisdom around John 15:1-17 connecting being with Jesus or "radical abiding" with healing that leads to being a more faithful and fruitful disciplemaker. Pastor Derik also facilitates space for Lectio Divina and Listening Prayer around this passage.
Pastor Derik interviews former Evergreen Leader Jordan Moss reflecting on discipleship, healing, and formation during his time in Evergreen (2019-2022). Jordan also shares the ways he's living out his sentness in a new church and context in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pastors Brad and Derik reflect on the most recent feedback from Grove Gathering and discuss the broader context of healing in light of our discipleship with Jesus and answering the following questions:
1. What's the "ideal" person for healing prayer?
2. Role of discipleship and healing
3. Healing and cultivating flourishing communities
Also an invitation for Healing Prayer Training Huddle March 14-15th at New Harvest Church!
Pastor Derik returns from the holiday break and unpacks a clearer definition of healing in light of our church's one year vision focus for 100% of Disciples to take their next healing step, weeding out strongholds of death, and cultivating flourishing communities.
