Charman is an English teacher, a popular women’s Bible study teacher at Highland Baptist Church, the mother of two adult children, and a proud new grandparent.

Lindsey Mangum is a neurology physician assistant, wife to Tom, and mom to sons Grayson and Bennett. She is passionate about using the amazing brain God gave us to study the Bible, as Jen Wilkin quotes, “the heart cannot love what the mind does not know.” Lindsey loves to ride horses and travel with her family.

Scott Guffin, PhD, Associate Professor and Executive Director of Christian Ministry at Samford University’s School of the Arts, is a Gardendale, Alabama native and Samford graduate. With over three decades of ministry experience in Alabama, Kentucky, and Indiana, he has served as youth minister, minister of music, associate pastor, and senior pastor. His passion for preaching, teaching, disciplemaking, and missions continues to shape his work at Samford, where he leads the Christian Ministry degree program and prepares students for lifelong service in the church and beyond. Dr. Guffin holds degrees from Samford University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv, PhD). He and his wife, Beth, have two grown children, Blake and Bailey, and he enjoys college football and the outdoors.

Ashley Brewer is a Ministry Success Specialist at Lifeway Christian Resources, where she equips leaders across the country to confidently share the Gospel with children using Lifeway Kids curriculum. With over a decade of hands-on experience in children’s ministry—serving on staff at churches throughout North Alabama and North Mississippi—Ashley now specializes in Preschool and Kids Ministry training, helping ministry leaders create environments where kids can grow in their faith. She holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education with a focus in Children’s Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. 

Ashley is married to Will, a Professor of Nursing. Together they have one son, Seth, and live in North Alabama with their two dogs, Molly Belle and Aubie. When she’s not championing kids ministry, you can find her crafting, reading, or enjoying all things Disney with her family.

A native of the Shoals, Timmy earned his Bachelor of Science in Commercial Music from the University of North Alabama, his Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University, and his Doctor of Educational Ministry in Worship Ministries from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Timmy and his wife, Maggie Bea, have five children (Maddux, Sophie, Theo, Sam, and Jude) and are members of Highland Baptist Church.

Dr. Rodney Shewbart is the senior pastor of Underwood Baptist Church. He has been in ministry for 25 years.
