Vernon Oakes interviews Fred Gibbs. Mr. Gibbs is an assistant professor in the history department at the University of New Mexico. He also serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Housing Cooperatives.

Vernon interviews John Zippert, Director of Progam Operations for the Federation of Southern Cooperatives Land Assistance Fund. John has over 45 years of experience in community organizing, cooperative and credit union development, rural based economic development and rural development in distressed communities.

Prior to working with the Federation he was a field worker for the Congress For Racial Equality (CORE). He holds a BA Degree in history from the City College of New York, and had received extensive training in rural development.
