Everything Comes Together is a podcast produced by Sreenag Pictures. On the show, you'll see interviews with people from the broader architecture, photography and design communities. They talk about their lives, challenges they overcame and the incidents along the way that made them who they are today. But every once in a while, Sreenag speaks with guests about Just One Thing.
My guest today is arguably India's most prolific cricket photographer, VV Krishnan. Over a long and storied career, he has captured some of the most iconic cricketing and sporting moments, on behalf of The Hindu. The photograph that brought his name to my attention was the legendary "Superman" run-out by Jonty Rhodes in 1992.
It surprised me that there was very information out there about VV Krishnan and the prompted me to talk to him about how he got started with sports photography, what it takes to make it in the business and how he has now transitioned into being a photo editor for a major national newspaper.

If you watched Episode 23 of Everything Comes Together, you would have heard Gayatri Nair, Shuchi Kapoor and Varun Gupta talk in depth about the 3rd edition of Chennai Photo Biennale. The 2021 Biennale launched just recently ago and is now up and running across venues in Chennai.
In Part 2 of my conversation with them, we talk about why they started the Biennale, how they’ve managed to grow their reach and where they feel they can improve the Biennale further.

The Chennai Photo Biennale has become one of the more important arts festivals in India and remains the only photography biennale in the country. The 2nd edition of the Biennale in 2019 expanded the scope of what was possible with excellent venues, international photographers and a series of skill building workshops. After the success of the first two editions, the organisers had to not only match expectations, but also had to work around the covid pandemic.
In part 1 of this conversation, my guests today are Gayatri Nair, Shuchi Kapoor and Varun Gupta, the core team behind CPB. As they gear up for the 3rd edition of the Biennale, they sit down with me to talk about this edition’s theme, what kind of work we can expect to see and their plans for photography scene in Chennai.

This is Part 2 of the interview with Justine De Penning & Deepak Jawahar. Listen to Part 1 in Episode 21 in your podcast feed, where they interviewed Sreenag about his architectural photography practice and getting into podcasting.
Their firm, The Architecture Story, is an interesting practice that blends art, design and architecture into one harmonious whole. Today, we talk about their unusual journeys upto when they met, their approach to their design work and the importance of technology in the creative process.
Just a word about the setting of today's interview: Justine & Deepak went to great effort to setup their installation for the Magnetic Fields Festival, just for the interview, and it acts as a unique backdrop to a unique interaction. You can see pictures of this installation on Instagram @sreenag or on the video interviews on our website.

The conversation with Justine De Penning & Deepak Jawahar took a delightfully unusual turn right from the start, when as soon as we hit record on our conversation, Justine and Deepak took the opportunity to ask me about how I got started in photography & podcasting and my approach to both architecture & photography.
Just a word about the setting of today's interview: Justine & Deepak went to great effort to setup their installation for the Magnetic Fields Festival, just for the interview, and it acts as a unique backdrop to a unique interaction. This conversation directly leads into my interview of Justine & Deepak in the next episode, when they open up in Ep #22. Listen to that episode in your podcast feed right now.

Photographers Sebastian Zachariah & Kunal Bhatia, along with other members of SAIP, have worked hard to identify as many Indian architecture & interior photographers as possible, and bring them under one roof, to talk about issues that specifically affect us.
And now that the systems and frameworks are in place, they’re looking to invite more people to join in and build a strong community for established pros and young photographers alike.
