The Enemies to Lovers trope can be a tough one to navigate, but when done correctly, can create the perfect storm for lovestruck two neighbors. Chloe and Redford captured my heart in Talia Hibbert's novel Get a Life, Chloe Brown. In this episode of the podcast, I talk about how Talia Hibbert writes a healthy and loving relationship readers can strive for regardless of its rocky beginnings. I recommend this book to everyone so go give it a read and leave a comment on what you thought of it.

Avatar Yangchen revealed her mistakes to Kyoshi and how they impacted her life and Avatar Kuruk's life. Now we'll dive into how the past may have impacted the future, and how F.C. Yee was able to create a past out of future Avatars. Aang and Korra, for better or worse, were impacted by their past lives' choices. Let's explore how that affected their duties as the Avatar.

The world's most beloved Avatars are carrying some dark secrets with them.
The Kyoshi novels not only dive into Avatar Kyoshi's first few years on the job, but they also reveal something about two of her previous past lives. They reveal the secret history of Avatar Yangchen and Avatar Kuruk. Now that its Kyoshi's turn to take up the mantle, she has to find a solution for everything her past lives couldn't solve and answer a question previous Avatars have been trying to answer for the last five generations-- how do you stop someone who has enacted irrevocable violence without resorting to murder?

Do you consider Artificial Intelligence alive? If not why not? And is there a line in the sand they have to cross to be considered alive? Both Holo from My Holo Love and Samantha from the movie Her, evolve so far past their initial coding that the other characters in their stories start to consider them as alive and treat them as such. Some of these characters even go so far as to fall in love with the AIs. Are they wrong to have feelings for a couple hundred lines of code with no physical body? Or are they respecting a living thing's capability to evolve?

Are you burned out, maybe in your early twenties, trying to survive in an industry that is hellbent on working you to death? Good news, there's an anime for that!
In this episode, I'll be talking about Shirobako, one of my all-time favorite animes. It's about a group of young women who move to Japan to follow their dreams of working in the animation industry. Whether its animation, voice acting, scriptwriting, or production, they all are fighting for their dream jobs. It's a beautifully modern story about working hard on your art and bringing it to fruition before you burn out completely. Its also a great story about balance and community, as well as the compassion that has to be had in an artistic industry in order for it to thrive.
Also, my birthday is April 18th say happy birthday in the comments, please! I'm turning 23 :)

Being quarantined for so long is starting to get me down so I had to put on something comforting for the sake of my mental health!
In this episode, I'll be talking about my favorite period piece movie, Belle (2013), directed by Amma Asante and written by Misan Sagay. The film is based on a true story and follows Dido Elizabeth Belle, the mixed-race daughter of a British admiral who fell in love with a freed slave woman. Her mother dies before Dido's father can marry her so he brings Dido to his family's estate to protect her. She grows up loved by her family but hidden away from the rest of the world, unable to know what life outside her mansion is like. Until she meets Mr. Davinier...

This quarantine is too much so I put on my OG comfort movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower. If you need a good cry and want to muse on the helpful empathy of humankind in this trying time, this episode is for you.

I am obsessed with this show! Almost as much as Eve is obsessed with Villanelle ;) In this episode I'll be talking about the relationships in Killing Eve, what it means to be a psychopath, and if I think Eve, our main character, has been revealed as a psychopath. This show is great if you love true crime, female protagonists, action, and some queer loving. Join me as I rave about Eve, Villanelle, and the rest of the gang. Also, comment if you would be interested in me comparing the BBC adaptation to the books. Thanks!

Greg and I got a little drunk and reviewed the Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn movie. I will say it was the best DC movie since the Dark Knight movies argue with me in the comments but I'm not taking it back. Enjoy!
