Everything is OK Podcast

Does power create monsters or are monsters realized through unchecked power? This week instead of sharing our planned episode, we felt like we needed to address the elephant in the room - another Christian powerhouse of a leader = a monster. We talk with Kyle Isenhower about Ravi Zacharias and what to do with the pieces. Do we stop consuming the work of people who lived a lie or are found out to be predators?

In Episode 111, we speak with Christian Taylor (cohost of Holy Post Podcast) about her new film The Girl Who Wore Freedom.

Christian grew up in Laurel, MS and paints a picture of how growing up in 1970s Mississippi impacted her journey of faith and the art of storytelling. Her new film tells the stories of those who experienced Normandy first hand while experiencing liberation from ultimate loss. You can learn more about her film at normandystories.com. Also check her and the crew out at Holy Post! . Follow Christian on twitter here.

Fantastic music at the end of episode by Oh Jeremiah.

Ep. 110 is here and we are star struck. It’s not every day you have the chance to sit down and chat through a mind-blowing book with the author. Kristin Du Mez is a professor of History, author and charming guest. She wrote the critically acclaimed novel Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation. She is kind, funny and gives us some nice answers to questions like “how did we get here” and “how can evangelicals grow post Donald Trump”.

Please buy her book today! We listened to it on audible, but she has a second printing of it available now where you get books. She would love to connect via twitter as well.

QAnon started in 4chan and has infiltrated the larger zeitgeist of internet culture. We watched the “Q Shaman” lead a prayer in the US Capitol Building in early January. It’s time to learn a little more about the origins of QAnon and what this movement has to do with American Christians and the end times. Enter Mark Johnson!

We reference Mark’s article “Friends, family, conspiracy theorists”. Read and support his work today.

Brad, David and James talk guns and America. But first we talk Star Wars, Thanksgiving, and our love of Chris Bruffett. We are thrilled to include an audio section from Rob Bell to start the conversation off, and I think you will be surprised where we land. Bang bang y’all. #NRA #Gunreform #2ndamendment #StarWars #gunowners #Oklahoma

It’s Thanksgiving week, and this year as been wild. Can people come together and talk about abortion, pro-life and pro-choice without leaving the talk screaming? James, David and Brad reach out to friends and family and ask them a couple questions. The findings may surprise you.

Join our patreon family and get the extended recordings from this episode. We didn’t have enough space to share everybody’s take but it is worth the listen! We have more in common with our brothers and sisters than a poster or bumper sticker may lead you to believe — and this gives us hope.
