As Iraq showed, nothing can be concluded from a single skirmish – the famous routing of the Taliban by Gen. Rashid Dostum near Mazar-i-Sharif – but this doesn't look like a one-off. If there were ever a good reason for a US withdrawal from Afghanistan, now would be it.
