Rand Paul Says What Could Make Him a ‘Yes’ on Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that if President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” were to “separate out the debt ceiling,” then he would vote in favor of it.

“I talked to the president last evening after the parade, and we’re trying to get to a better place in our conversations. I’ve let him know that I’m not an absolute no. I can be a yes,” Paul said. “I like the tax cuts. I actually agree with Art Laffer and the supply siders that a lot of times we cut rates.”

“We actually get more revenue, so I don’t have as much trouble with the tax cuts. I think there should be more spending cuts, but if they want my vote, they’ll have to negotiate because I don’t want to vote to raise the debt ceiling $5 trillion,” Paul added. “Congress is awful with money, and so you should give them a more restricted credit line, not an expansive one.”

Have We Forgotten How The Senate Works? – Navigating the BBB

The part that surprises me is the part where people seem to have forgotten the purpose of the U.S. Senate.

CONTEXT – Currently there is a Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) in the senate, the culmination of years of work by President Trump and his team together with politicians in congress. There is no smaller BBB, there is no modified BBB, there is only one big comprehensive package of initiatives and priorities for President Trump’s agenda. One Big Beautiful Bill.

That’s it. Just this one legislative priority that has all the stuff Donald Trump promised in the 2024 election. It’s all in one bill; all of it. As a consequence, President Trump needs this bill to pass congress; there is no fallback position; there is no alternative; there is no safer option. The BBB is an all or nothing swing for the fences.

GAINING VOTES – This BBB is the legislative package approach that President Trump accepted. As a consequence whatever it takes to get that BBB legislation passed, is exactly what we should expect to see done. Remember, this is a legislative construct that only targets REPUBLICAN VOTES. Republicans control every element of this BBB discussion.

People not happy about President Trump remarks about illegal-alien farm workers. Well, President Trump is buying gaining the votes of Big Ag state senators.

Minnesota Shooting Suspect Had Hit List of 70 Targets, Including Radical Rep. Ilhan Omar and Tim Walz

A chilling episode unfolded early Saturday as 57‑year‑old Vance Luther Boelter allegedly carried out a coordinated, politically motivated assault targeting Minnesota Democrats.

Boelter was appointed by Governor Tim Walz in 2019 to serve on the Minnesota Workforce Development Board — a multi-member advisory body focused on statewide workforce policy.

Melissa Hortman and her husband, killed State Senator John Hoffman and his wife are recovering.

According to CNN:

Law enforcement sources found a cache of additional weapons inside the suspect’s car, suggesting he was prepared for more attacks or confrontations.

A large amount of ammunition was discovered, along with a Father’s Day card, presumably addressed to the suspect.

Authorities also recovered a manifesto outlining the suspect’s grievances.

A hit list of approximately 70 names was found, including:

Numerous Minnesota state legislators

Mayors

Medical clinics, including abortion providers and pro-life advocates

Locations and individuals from out of state

The motive appears to involve carrying out multiple attacks or assassinations until stopped by law enforcement.

Police preemptively reached the suspect’s second target location, encountering and exchanging gunfire with him.

The suspect then fled on foot, abandoning his car, weapons cache, and part of his plan.

He was reportedly wearing a tactical vest or body armor; it’s unclear if he was wounded.
