H.H. Holmes was one of the most innovative serial killers. Born as the middle child in a family of five, the poor bastard was doomed for failure. He became interested in human dissection early in life, and after successfully tricking an elderly couple into selling him their drug store, he turned it into his own hotel of horrors. After luring unsuspecting victims in, he would initiate an affair with them, gain their trust, and murder them. The weirdest part about this story is the fact that Mr. Holmes would create outlandish false leads to throw detectives off of his trail.
