  • The Truth That Guards Us
Spiritual deception is real, and false teaching doesn't always look obviously dangerous. In 1 Timothy 4:1–5, Paul warns that some will depart from the faith by following deceptive spirits and false teachers. Their message may sound spiritual, but it contradicts God's Word and distorts the goodness of God's creation and the gospel. How can we recognize the counterfeit? By knowing the genuine article. God's Word exposes falsehood and reminds us that every good gift comes from our good Creator and is meant to be received with thanksgiving. Most importantly, salvation is not something we earn through religious performance or self-denial. False religion says DO; the gospel says DONE. False religion says ME; the gospel says JESUS.

  • One Creation of Man
If God created man male and female on the sixth day, where does a second creation of man come from? Ask why God takes both accounts up again here and says it once more, in the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him. Ask what is left of a doctrine that needs two Adams once those words stand. Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

  • Exodus 9:1-7
(AI Generated Summary) The sermon examines Exodus 9 to reveal Yahweh's absolute sovereignty and His deliberate distinction between Israel and Egypt. It highlights how God uses the plague on livestock to demonstrate that He is not merely a local deity but the supreme Lord over all creation. The preacher connects this Old Testament narrative to the New Covenant, arguing that believers become God's people only through union with Christ, who fulfills the covenant requirements. Emphasizing the hardness of Pharaoh's heart, the text asserts that external evidence alone cannot change a sinful heart without divine intervention. Ultimately, the message offers hope by affirming that God's redemptive purposes are unstoppable and grounded in His grace.

  • Dominion in Christ
The sermon explores Psalm 8 to highlight God's majestic glory revealed in creation and the unique value of humanity as His image bearers. It emphasizes that all human life, from infancy to old age, possesses inherent worth because it reflects God's nature, contrasting this with the brokenness caused by sin. Jesus Christ is presented as the true Man who was humiliated and then crowned with glory, restoring the divine image in believers through faith. The message calls Christians to participate in taking dominion over the earth not for self-glory, but to reflect God's glory in all aspects of daily life. Ultimately, the sermon urges listeners to align their actions with Christ's authority and to cherish every person as a reflection of God's creative work.

  • Death and the Hope of Resurrection
Every aspect of our lives should reflect our confidence in God and is evidence that we believe He will fulfill His promises. That even includes the way that we handle the death of loved ones, and that is reflected in Abraham's life in the way that he grieved and made arrangements for Sarah's burial. The care that he showed in making arrangements is evidence of his confidence in a future resurrection, when he and Sarah would both experience the fullness of God's magnificent promises to him of the land, an innumerable number of descendants, and being the source of blessing for the entire world. Our assurance of our Lord's return and our resurrection and glorification are demonstrated in the way that we look upon our death and those we care about.
