    EWTN

On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: Tomorrow marks one year in office for President Joe Biden and the reviews are mixed. Meanwhile, voting reform is still front and center on Capitol Hill, but the future of getting anything passed does not look promising for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. His plan now is to change the rules and force a vote to enact a talking filibuster. And President of the March for Life, Jeanne Mancini, joins to talk about the march coming up this Friday, how the theme "Equality begins in the womb" was decided and how the march will reflect that theme. Also, two teenagers in England who were detained in connection with a synagogue hostage situation in Colleyville, Texas have been released without charges. However, the investigation in both the US and England is ongoing. Managing Director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, Rabbi Yaakov Menken, joins to share his reaction and discuss the rise in anti-Semitism. Finally this evening, in his Sunday address at the Vatican, Pope Francis mentioned that this is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Official of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, Father Anthony Currer, joins to tell us more about the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, why it started and what events are planned.

  • EWTN: Catholic Answers Live - Persuasive Pro-Life
    St Rita Radio

Gjennom vårt program samarbeid med EWTN sender St Rita Radio programmet "Catholic Answers Live".
Programmet er et innringer program der lytterene kan stille alle mulige spørsmål om vår tro.
05:10 - How do we talk to people about defending the lives of those on death row?
12:20 - If God is sovereign, why would the fetus be born in the first place if he knows they’re going to hell?
19:18 - How would you respond to someone that says, “A fetus is an innocent aggressor, therefore killing it is justified”?
31:15 - One of the arguments from pro-choice people is the verse in the bible that states that the soul enters the child’s body at some point in the middle of pregnancy. They argue that abortion is ok up until that point. How would you respond to that?
36:04 - How do you respond to someone that says that since the heartbeat starts at 6 weeks, it should be ok to stop it before that point?
43:46 - Do we know if aborted babies go to heaven?
47:55 - With so many self-esteem issues, how do you explain the value of life to someone that doesn’t think they should live? Since they don’t think their life has value, they also don’t see the value of a fetus in the womb.
52:00 - I have a friend who was previously pro-life and then had the potential of becoming pregnant and switched to being pro-choice. I ended up pushing her away with my reaction to her viewpoint. What are some of your thoughts on how to keep your emotions out of conversations on this topic?

  • 2022-01-19 - Is There Such a Thing as Christian Tarot?
    EWTN

Host Johnnette Williams welcomes new age researcher & blogger Sue Brinkmann as they talk about wacky things that distract from the faith. This week they discuss Christian Tarot. Sue says Brittany Muller, an author, who says she’s not using the cards to foretell the future so she believes they can be used in line with Church teaching. Sue says using a fool’s folly. To flirt with any portal that Satan has used to bring about his demonic purposes is to play with fire.
