We see this throughout Scripture, and especially in the songs of Hannah and Mary. This week, the texts all point to God's delight in social leveling, especially through shared meals.

Far too often we are looking for analogies or quick take-aways and miss the opportunity to treasure the stories of humans who interacted with God and each other - just like we do!I hold a Ph.D. in Jewish Religious Cultures [Emory], a M.A. in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures (Arabic &amp; Hebrew) [Ohio State], a M.Div. [Luther Seminary] and have been a Deacon and then Pastor in the ELCA for a whole long time!
