Recorded April 22, 2020

For some reason this episode and one other didn’t get put up when they should have been!  Downside, you’ve been without eXaMENation Podcast content and that is on us.  We apologize.  Upside, you get a double whammy of X-Men cartoon commentary.  Buckle up!

Wolverine and the X-Men: Foresight, Parts 2 & 3, Season 1: Episodes 26 and 26

The guys briefly discuss what's happening in comics and what makes a show (specifically for the X-Men) a good show.  Then, boot up your Disney+ (or DVDs!) and follow along as they watch a couple of their favorite episodes of Wolverine and the X-Men and deliver their own thoughts and commentary.

We know we've been radio silent for a bit.  This is just a short blurb to explain what is going on and what our plans are for the podcast with the lack of comics in our new COVID-19 era.

We discuss how the Fox Era of X-Men Movies lined up for us.  Who would win the prize and which movie is truly a stinker?

We're a day light, but certainly not a dollar short.  This week the guys bring you a special episode.  Log in to your Disney+ and watch Night of the (Living) Sentinels with us!  We take a trip down nostalgia lane and give a little commentary on the two part debut of the iconic 90's animated series.

This week the guys discuss our conspiracy predictions for Hickman’s future of X-Men.  With so many unresolved irons in the fire and so much set up for the future, what will come to be?  Well, don’t worry, we’ve got answers.  Everyone gives you their, KRAKOAN CONSPIRACIES!

Also, this is our first ever VIDEO EPISODE!  You can still listen the normal audio way (albiet with some mic issues from Quintin) or you can check out the video version on Youtube (yeah, still with the mic issues).  So head on over (https://youtu.be/nVeLLMfLuQg) and check that version out to see our handsome mugs.

So please enjoy our conspiracies theories, our candid argument about #1 Seeds in our X-Men March Madness bracket, and the episode ending when Kelsey forgets how microphones and headsets work.  This one is a true banger.

X-Men/Fantastic Four #3, Wolverine #2, Hellions #1, Giant Size X-Men: Nightcrawler, X-Men #9

This week the guys discuss...how COVID-19 is affecting them and the comic and entertainment world and discuss and compare the viruses of the X-Men Universe.  Is X-Men/Fantastic Four actually a book about X-Men and Fantastic Four, or is it a Doom book?  At what point do we start blaming Wolverine for getting mind controlled and killing his friends?  Better team recruitment montage: Hellions or Ocean’s 11?  With an old school Claremont vibe to the Giant Size Nightcrawler, are these issues intentionally an homage to previous X eras?  When the dust settles after the epic collision of worlds and issues...what do the X-Men do with King Broo now?

Season 3: Episode 4: It’s Not an Alternate Universe, It’s An Arc of an Alternate Universe...but Reversed

Excalibur #9, X-Force #9  This week the guys discuss the New Mutants Cinematic Curse, what we’re watching while we’re locked indoors, and the best and the worst of X-Men alternate universes.  Excalibur is in search of the Starlight Citadel, but do you need a PhD in Britain Corps to understand what that means?  X-Force has a quality story leaning on the past, setting up for the future, but more importantly, laying the breadcrumbs of more ill intent in Krakoan leadership.  Dane and Kelsey have a beast of a danger room but seek victory in these dark times.

Season 3: Episode 3: Lawn of X - Coming to Krakoan Subdivision Near You

Cable #1, New Mutants #9, X-Men #8  This week the guys discuss God Loves, Man Kills and what the new release means with regards to religious extremism as a storytelling mechanic and that story blending together with the X2 Movie.  Also, when will Dawn of X ‘end’ and what will be the end point?  Cable makes his debut, not only in Krakoa’s UFC, The Quarry, but in his own solo comic.  Who is this Cable and what does that mean for the time traveling character as a whole?  The New Mutants have a high stakes mystery investigating a young, reality warping mutant making a lot of trouble in mutant-unfriendly Russia.  Finally, in X-Men, find themselves face to face with an old enemy as the Brood invade Krakoa.  Dane and Kelsey look to get back on track in the Danger Room, but face some conflict and strife.

Marauders #9, Excalibur #8  This week the guys discuss, what’s the deal with X of Swords?  (https://i.imgur.com/Z7V1bgw.jpg)  Who is the most overused mutant on Krakoa and what does overused really mean?  Emma continues to develop as a character as she deals with island intruders and dealing with the trauma that comes from losing a close friend.  Also, a surprise discussion of Bishop’s Krakoan apartment.  Betsy and Excalibur continue dealing with Cullen Bloodstone and the hunt for Warwolf heads.  Some dinner table conversation and late night eavesdropping brings conflict back.  Also, Rachel Summers adopts a dog from the |--A--| animal shelter (yeah, you’ll have to read or listen).  Dane and Kelsey have a dog of a time in the return of 20 Questions.

It's season 3 of Examenation Podcast.  You know the drill every book, examined!  Giant Size X-Men: Jean Grey & Emma Frost, X-Men 7, X-Force 8, New Mutants 8, F4/X-Men all get reviewed and recapped by the squad!
