In this video I go over an example on determining the derivative of a vector function and then calculating its unit tangent vector when the parameter t = 0. This is a quick example showing how to obtain the derivative of a vector function by components, then using the distance formula in 3D to obtain the derivative magnitude or length. The unit tangent vector is the ratio of the derivative to its length, and describes the direction of the derivative but with a length of 1 unit.
