The story of the flood isn't a children's story. It's a story of the devastating effects that sin will have on this world. But even in this tragedy, we see hope. The story points to both a greater judgement to come and salvation that is offered.

Even with the flood looming, God deals graciously with humanity. When no one deserved to be saved, God found favor in Noah and used him accordingly to his obedience
