This month we are looking at why we believe that God has placed us at Exchange for such a time as this.This week Andrew looks at Character being one of the pillars of our culture. We believe in Godliness & holiness. But we believe it is the gift of God that we receive by faith and not through work. Righteous by grace through faith. In the new covenant of Grace many things seem to be upside down. To stand firm in life and to reign in life it is no longer about your own ability or strength but about learning to believe, receive & rest in the perfect work of Jesus. The talk today comes from a well known portion where we see Jesus commending a friend for doing what was seen as rude & ill mannered to to the religious people of the day. What he teaches though is that if you are going to stand then you first need to learn how to sit.

Andrew this week quickly explains why we do not want to be people who talk grace but do not live in the power of it.The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Grace. He empowers you & gives you the ability to live for God. He is your strength & help. A life without the being filled with the Holy Spirit means a form of Godliness that lacks the power that He brings to live for God. He takes the grace, love & promises of God and makes those come alive to you as power from the inside out.

As you read this right now God has spoken great & wonderful promises over your life & your future. You are not the exception to the rule. Whenever God wrote those promises in His word He was thinking of you. The grace of God is the way to make those promises become real life experience. How do you stand in grace whenever your life & circumstances may look like the complete opposite to what God said He has done for you? How do you possess that promise? Andrew looks at 3 key points that will help you to possess the promises that God has spoken over your life!

Last week Andrew taught how you are equipped with everything that you need for every situation - That is how grace operates in your life. If that is true how do you "get that out" so that you can operate in that level of living. This week Andrew starts with the tools that God has given you to help you stand every day - Looking at what sanctification means Andrew shows you that right now you can set apart every circumstance in your life and let the purpose of God work through it for your benefit!

Having a framework for how we interpret events that happen to us is critical for fulfilling our purpose in God. It has often been taught that God creates situations just to see if we will make it or not and then makes a judgement on whether or not we are fit to be trusted. Is that though what a God of love & grace does? Does a trial have a bigger purpose? Does a God of grace create evil to test you? Big questions that we must have a heart conviction on if we want to learn to keep standing in the goodness and grace of God and see breakthrough & advancement as a way of life and not a one off event.

If the grace of God promises such great things for our lives and that is nothing to do with us then does God ever test us? What would be the point of that? If we are under grace will everything not just eventually work out for us in the end? God gives us tools that help us with one express aim - to learn how to develop the character that God needs in us reach the potential that He has put in us. Andrew uses the example of King David in the cave with Saul to show that God gives us the chance to grow in the favour that He has provided for. The decision is yours - will you step forward into the promise of God or step away?

Many people live with hidden disappointments with God. Many people live frustrated that the promises that they hear about and read about are not happening in their lives. Is that just life? Is the grace of God just for the chosen few who it seems to work for? The key to overcoming doubt, resentment and disappointment is to learn that in the time between anointing & appointing that God is preparing you and you must participate by strengthening yourself in God. You have the fullness of God and His kingdom available to you - Learn how to stand & grow into your destiny.

As the Church, we are God's representatives here on earth and it is our privilege to partner with Him in sharing His love with a world in need.
