In my mind there is a few stages of awareness when it comes to excuses. There is first of all straight sincerely believing your excuse, so much so that in no way shape or form do you see it as an excuse. Then something happens or you are forced to face something or you get called out or you hear a story that shifts perspective and you at least own you are making excuses. And then sometimes the stage is not tolerating the excuse and getting mad at it. That is I think the way a lot of “quote disciplined people run. This energy of such hardness .

I once heard someone say they preferred the word devoted to disciplined, but to be used in the same context. For example instead of being so disciplined about writing your novel every day, the you are devoted to the deeper why of why you started.

Then there is this new idea, it’s like a new idea for me. What if instead of a mean coach, it was like the most supportive cheerleader?
