With over 25 years of franchise, business development, and strategic planning experience, Laurel (“Lori”) Israel Sturm, is a franchise attorney, adjunct professor in MBA Programs, speaker for franchise industry programs and organizations and serves as a trainer, career life coach, and franchise business consultant. Today, through her company, eAdvantage4u, she provides entrepreneurial and franchise education and consulting, helping people explore business ownership. She researches and suggests business models that leverage her clients’ talents, skills sets and education. She shares her insights and provides direction to help them find the right business to reach their personal, career and financial goals!
Lori is a co-founder of FranBrokers, llc, a consortium of individual franchise broker companies to promote best practices. Lori is also currently a Contributing Member and helped launch a new professional group for franchise professionals called the International Franchise Professional Group (IFPG). She is also a former member of Franserve brokerage network. She is Emeritus of the Central Ohio American Corporate Counsel Chapter Board. Lori received her Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) Award from the International Franchise Association (IFA). She participates as a member of the American Bar Association Franchise Forum and in the US and International Legal Symposiums. She has worked her way up from staff attorney to general counsel for franchise companies including: Wendy’s, Rax Restaurants, Petland, Scotts Lawn Care, Red Roof Inns, and Steak Escape, among others. She has taught in many central Ohio colleges and universities mba programs as well as speaking to business leaders about business and franchise ownership. She is a graduate of the Leadership Columbus Chamber program. She received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Small Business Administration of Columbus, Ohio. Because of her work helping people launch and grow their business, she was recognized by the Central Ohio TopCAT awards (Top Contributors to the Advancement of Technology) by Tech Columbus, a division of the Columbus, Ohio Chamber of Commerce.
