No, You're Not Dying

Existential Thoughts from a Trip Around the Moon

Listen Later

Perhaps you've recently heard about the Artemis II mission around the moon. And if you haven't, we're here to tell you about it (and by "it", we mean a little bit about the mission and a lot a bit about how it made us think about life and our existence).

Not only was it exciting to collectively experience a historical moment that wasn't extra-strength awful, but it also showed us how an event like this can teach us a lot about who we are - if we think about it in just the right way.

Today, we're digging into the feeling of disbelief that Earth even exists, why footage from space makes us feel both insignificant/like nothing matters AND so special/like everything matters, and how to refocus when you're getting lost in the minutiae.

We also share our thoughts on "doing things scared" and balancing our fears with seizing opportunities, what it means to leave a legacy, appreciating "nerdy" subjects and why we need more women in STEM, and of course, the biggest questions of all: would you want to go to space, and is there other life out there?
