  • Exit Only Theater, Ep. 2.06 l Why Women Rocked 2015

From Charlize Theron as Furiosa to Daisy Ridley as Rey, women were kicking butt throughout 2015! Check out as we celebrate the films that showcase the full range potential of what a female character should be and will be going forward.
BUT we also blow the whistle on the films that still don't get how to develop a female character (looking at you Jurassic World). Enjoy and let us know what your favorite female performers were this year!

  • Exit Only Theater, Ep. 2.03 Oscar Nominations and More

This week, the crew at Exit Only Theater tackles the recent Oscar nominations, breaking down what the Academy got right and where they completely whiffed (hint, we loved Creed more than they did, apparently).
Plus, the film adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark got its director - GUILLERMO DEL TORO! How does this shape the conversation about this film - are we more excited or, perhaps, more worried?
And, the Marvel Universe has its latest director - Ryan Coogler will be directing Black Panther. Which upcoming Marvel stand-alone film stands as the most exciting currently on the production slate?

  • Exit Only Theater, Ep. 2.02 | A Cloverfield Sequel!? Plus, Tributes to Bowie and Rickman

This week saw the surprise release of the trailer to the pseudo-sequel to Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane (link below). With the quiet marketing campaign to such an anticipated film (starring John Goodman for good measure), it got us, at Exit Only Theater, thinking - how did Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot pull this off?
Plus, we compare this marketing campaign to that of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - is it better to give the audience a glimpse or leave them wanting more?
And, we take some time to pay our respects to two incredible industry talents - the musical genius that was David Bowie and the wonderfully talented Alan Rickman. We share our fondest memories, and take time to talk about their respective impacts within recent pop culture.
Special thank you to Shawn Howard and Jonathan Fisher for their help this week!
