The tabernacle is laid out according to the specifications God gave on the mountain to Moses. Worship is not spontaneous or haphazard but is carefully organized to honor God. This is God's tent and He is moving into the neighborhood, so to speak. The first and most visible item of furniture in the court of the Tabernacle is the bronze altar. Blood is applied on the horns and sides of the altar to atone for sins. The altar points forward to the cross of Calvary, where Jesus, God's sacrifice, shed His blood to atone for the sins of the world.
