After the Crime and Corruption Commission found no criminal wrongdoing by Jackie Trad, the report did highlight concerns about how decisions were made behind closed doors.
So, are state governments necessary?
Journalist and commentator, Dan Petrie told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "We should be looking at mechanisms to empower and put a more greater delineation of services to local government, maybe with states overseeing them in a more skeletal form and feeding into the feds."
"But that's the simple fact is the industry of government, state government is incredibly expensive to run," Mr Petrie continued.
