How much Star Wars lore should you need to understand a new Star Wars story?
With The Ninth Jedi, not much.
Adam reviews the new Star Wars: Visions series and argues that its greatest strength is being almost completely unmoored from established continuity. Instead of relying on Skywalkers, familiar villains or decades of references, the show has to build its characters and mythology using only the basic foundations of Jedi, Sith and the Force.
The result feels unmistakably like Star Wars while looking and operating unlike almost anything else in the franchise.
