According to 2021 a study by UCLA, more than a million adults in the US identify as non-binary. However, their stories are often not shared or told in their own voice. Joining us on today’s A Public Affair tell their own story in their own voice, is author Dianna E. Anderson. In the hour Ali and Dianna talk at length of the experience of non-binary identity and Dianna’s new book In Transit: Being Non-Binary in a World of Dichotomies. In Transit traces the history and theory of non-binary idenity and tells the story of Dianna’s own experience.
Dianna E. Anderson is a non-binary writer and author. Their work primarily focuses on the intersections of gender, history, religion, and theory. Dianna has been published in Rolling Stone, Cosmo, and Dame–just to name a few. Their are the author of Problematic and Damaged. They live in Minneapolis with their two cats, Minerva and Tonks.
