What shifted when the Torah descended from heaven?
Rav Shlomo Katz explores the Tanya’s teachings on how Matan Torah wasn’t just a moment in history. It was the moment history changed.
Before the Torah was given, humanity could reach for Hashem, but something essential remained out of reach. After Sinai, the Divine came down into the world in a way it never had before. Suddenly, a Jew could connect to Hashem not just spiritually, but physically—through mitzvos, through letters of Torah, through action.
What does that mean for us today? That every thought, every word, every mitzvah carries the power to bring heaven down to earth.
