In Part 2 of Episode 1, we discuss how Maria connects with other cultures, and what impact, if any, language barriers had on her growing up in the Texas Rio Grande Valley. Lastly, she shares important things for counselors to remember as they connect with and serve the LatinX population.

In this part of Episode 1, we explore the meaning of Maria's LatinX culture and her experiences with it. She describes her culture, her heritage, her experiences growing up Latina, and differences in acculturation within her immediate family. She explains those cultural values she holds dear, as well as strengths of and challenges in being Latina today.
