Gerry D. from the Totally Rad Christmas Podcast agreed to jump in and talk about his podcast! From how his experience as a lifelong musician has helped in developing his podcast (he did write his theme song in a parking lot), to how its concept originally developed, he shares some cool info that I think you will all find very interesting.
On top of that, we also talk about being a kid in the 80s and try to help solve the mystery of what might have been floating around in the air when all those cool cartoons and games from that time period were created (probably something that rhymes with "mugs"). Then, we move on to some of his favorite Christmas themed horror movies! And finally, we discuss how one can lose sight of that festive Christmas spirit as an adult, as well as possible ways to rekindle it.
For this one, I get to spend some time talking to Steve and Tina, two of the three hosts of the true crime podcast called Malice After Midnight! We talk about the origins of their podcast, the kind of equipment they use to record and edit, among other things!
For the second part, we switch gears and talk about some of their favorite types of horror movies, the nightmare machine that was coked up Stephen King back in the day, the irreparable trauma that The Human Centipede caused in Steve's mind, and much more!
Thanks to both of them for being so gracious to agree to being interviewed! :D
First of all, hopefully everyone had a great holiday season!
There are major podcast announcements made in the intro part. After that I (Chuy) go on a philosophical/existential stream-of-consciousness rant where I talk about how humanity is portrayed in anime like Record Of Ragnarok and Saint Seiya, as well as in the quirky posts about humans being Space Orcs. I also mention how humans can be equally capable or great and terrible things. Are we really as good, or as important as we make ourselves out to be? Listen in to find out what my thoughts are on this :P
Have you ever wondered whether we are actually alive? That perhaps our reality might be nothing more than a dream or a computer program? If you like to warp your mind by pondering about such possibilities, then this is the episode for you!
Chuy talks a little about each possibility, then provides an example from pop culture for the Dreamworld and Computer Sim scenarios (St. Elsewhere and Star Ocean 3, respectively). Then, he also mentions some examples from "real" life (lucid dreaming for the first and the possible connection between the LHC experiment and the Mandela Effect for the second).
Special shout-out to our Twitter followers for participating on the Survey for this episode! Thanks to everyone for your answers and input :D
Have you ever had your soul crushed by horrors created for the big screen by people who seemingly have no idea about what the essence of the story in a beloved property is, or about its characters? Or rather, have you ever actually walked out of the theater feeling like a film based on one of your favorite videogames, comics, books, etc. was actually good?
Whatever your point of view about adaptations might be, you should totally listen in to the conversation Chuy had with none other than podcast host Robbie Sherman! They talk about how classic properties such as Mario Bros., Mortal Kombat, Sonic, Cowboy Bebop, the MCU and DCEU, The Lord Of The Rings, and Resident Evil were made into either films or shows.
We got another great interview for this week's Bonus Episode! Chuy was able to converse with Kayla from A Little Wicked Podcast, and the discussion covered everything from podcast recording gear to paranormal experiences, with a side of folk legends and a dash of psychology for good measure.
This is one you definitely shouldn't miss! Oh, and make sure you listen in to Kayla's podcast too :)
We had a chance to talk to Briana and Jason, the two hosts of the podcast called Go A Little Mad, on a Twitter Space recently. We discussed some of the concepts and ideas behind their podcast, as well as other topics related to horror. Among those, we covered horror properties crossing over and expanding into other media, a timeline of horror film history, whether remakes are good or even necessary, and some paranormal stuff ...
There are other things that we didn't get a chance to talk about on this occasion, so we would definitely like to do a follow up to this discussion in the near future with them!
We are thrilled to have had the chance to speak to Nix, one of the hosts of Sounds Creepy Pod, all the way from South Africa! She discusses the concept behind her podcast, as well as the importance of music in film, her opinion on the recent horror remake flood in Hollywood, among other things.
Then, we are joined by other amazing individuals who also contributed greatly to our conversation through the magic of Twitter Space. We discussed how films hardly ever are adapted to the big screen in a way that is faithful to the original source, as well as other interesting topics.
On yet another Bonus Episode, we are proud to present the audio from the interview that the hosts of the Bhh (pronounced Bah) Podcast conducted with Chuy. We definitely recommend you seek their pod if you enjoy comedy based content :D
As an addendum, Chuy also shares his impressions about the latest entry in the Michael Myers saga, Halloween Kills. Did he like it? DId he not like it? Does it matter, in the grand scheme of things? It certainly does to us! :P
We present to you the conclusion to the interview that Chuy conducted with Dan and Casey, the creators of the comic that will take the world by storm, AKA Bigfoot Knows Karate!
Unfortunately, Casey had some technical issues and had to bow out early, but he did manage to share a personal experience about his father and aliens.
Dan and Chuy then run the gamut and talk about everything from videogames to the legend of Robert Johnson, the blues musician that allegedly sold his soul to become a great guitar player.
Make sure to check out their work!
