Dr. Michael Lawler is an experienced chemist and atmospheric scientist that currently works with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Chemical Sciences Laboratory. His interests are in atmospheric aerosol composition and formation processes. He uses unique mass spectrometry-based techniques to measure trace constituents of the atmosphere in order to understand the sources of atmospheric particles and their role in climate and health. He has made scientific contributions in the areas of reactive halogen chemistry, new particle formation, fungal shrapnel in the atmosphere, biological nanoparticles, and marine aerosol formation.

John Banta has 35 years of experience in Indoor Environmental Quality. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist holding a BA in Environmental Health Sciences. Dr. Cheryl Harding,  is Professor Emerita of Psychology at Hunter College, City University of NY and of the Doctoral Program in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience, The Graduate Center, City University of NY.  She originally trained as a behavioral neuroendocrinologist, studying how hormones acted on the brain to alter behavior and how an animal’s behavior affected its hormone levels. In '06, she became fascinated by early reports that mold exposure caused brain fog, interfering with normal cognitive function. There was no known physiological mechanism to explain how mold could cause these symptoms which mold patients reported. So she retrained in psychoneuroimmunology examining how the immune system affects brain function and behavior, obtained grant funds, and carried out a series of experiments in mice. These experiments demonstrated for the first time that mold exposure did cause brain inflammation with resultant behavioral dysfunction, that nontoxic mold stimuli were also a danger, and that innate immune activation appeared to trigger this cognitive and emotional dysfunction.

Valerie Clover is a fierce military mom that has been fighting for justice against toxic mold exposure that permanently damaged her son. Weeks after moving into military housing with hidden mold, Valerie observed her all-star pitcher son spiral into OCD behaviors that consumed him. After seeking the help of a neurologist to find answers for her son's mysterious condition, Valerie was accused of Munchausen by proxy. The Clover’s are now one of two families who have filed lawsuits in state court over what they consider to be negligence, fraud, and premises liability against the government contractor that supplies housing on and off Marine Corps bases throughout the country. They are suing this government contractor for exposing them to dangerous levels of mold inside military housing on Camp Pendleton. The ongoing lawsuits against Lincoln Military Property Management were filed less than three months after the company was ordered to pay another military family $2 million for exposing them to mold.
